MELVILLE  SPIRITUALIST  CHURCH

December 2012

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Gandhi

Our greetings to all at this special time of year.  Yes, Christmas is here again and as always we see the hustle and bustle of people preparing for the Festive season.  As we all know there will be an influx of visitors to our lovely coast and a busy few weeks lay ahead for all of us.  But please, read the quotation above again and let us remember that there are so many who have no family, no children, no money and even no homes.  This is not always a joyful time for everyone.

If we can make this Christmas a little happier for someone who is disadvantaged or alone, please think of a way to be of service and bring a little joy to another.  Be it a small gift, a new outfit, a meal or the ability to share your table with someone on Christmas day with your family; we can all be of service even in the smallest way.

Having said that, we are so pleased to know that our little sanctuary, through your constant support, has made it possible for all at Angel Wings to have a cooked Christmas lunch this year. Thank you one and all.  Let’s keep up the good work next year.  We have been blessed in so many ways as a congregation so let’s continue to spread these blessings to others.

We have had quotes for the repair of the retaining wall behind the church and are waiting on one or two more.  Under discussion is the possibility of a ramp or proper pathway up to the church to make it easier for those who find all the steps difficult to manage.

We would also like to remind you that on the 21st December starting at 5pm we are having our special ceremony to bring light and energy into the church property, by using the element of fire, sound, drumming, prayer and planting of crystals and special stones in the grounds.  Please come and join us.

Don’t forget to put your names down for the Christmas lunch.  All we ask you to bring is a plate, knife, fork and desert spoon as well as a pudding plate.  We will also have a few guests from Durban to join us.  We look forward to seeing you.

As you know, we submitted our application for the funding of the new centre to the John Templeton Foundation. They have informed us that they are not able to assist us but we plough on and applications are being made elsewhere.  So please hold that in prayer for a positive outcome.

As the end of 2012 winds down and the New Year approaches my committee and I want to wish you all for your ongoing support and love.  To all those who have worked on platform, be they local or farther afield, we send you our gratitude and thanks for your ongoing work at our church.  May God bless you all and bring you a happy, blesses and peaceful 2013.

To our music makers and bearers of flowers and weekly eats, a million thanks.

To my committee….thank you for your dedication.  I know that next year will be even better with all your ideas, suggestions and hard work. Bless you all.

I would also like to thank Mark and Dianne for their tremendous effort and time they put into creating an amazing proposal for raising funds for the Manitowoc College.  You worked incredibly hard and we honor you both for that.  Thank you.

Well folks, I will end this letter by asking God to be with each and every one of you, with your families and in your homes this festive season.  May you all be blessed.

MERRY  CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
